Ossory, Laois and Leinster is a biennial journal dedicated to the publication of studies of primary material relating to the history, archaeology and literature of counties Kilkenny and Laois and of the greater Leinster region. It seeks to emphasize the importance of both Gaelic and the Anglo-Norman sources and traditions.
The journal is published in Co. Kilkenny, and one of its core objectives is the swift dissemination of original research to the areas and communities to which that research is relevant. This is achieved through local distribution of the journal, and through lectures delivered locally and centred on its contents. This ensures an awareness and knowledge of research that might otherwise take years to percolate to the areas in question, and, in turn, it generates among the population an enhanced appreciation of the heritage and traditions of these areas.
